THE SPESSART

Around the beautiful town of Lohr is one of the most densely wooded low mountain ranges and one of the most beautiful nature parks in Germany - the Spessart. With its dense forests and heights up to 586 m, the Spessart is a scenically beautiful and unique natural experience. In the north of the Spessart conifers predominate, in the south and high Spessart beech and oak trees. In its impressive and untouched flora and fauna, a species-rich floral world can be seen and wild berries and mushrooms thrive in great numbers. Bird lovers also get their money's worth here: hawks, sparrow hawks, buzzards and woodpeckers are native to the Spessart. In addition, there are a large number of deer, roe deer and wild boar.

From the old forest to this day are told stories of robbers and scary about eerie inns. Today, guests find typical Franconian hospitality with good wine and hearty meals in the inns. With its many winding paths, the Spessart is also a paradise for cyclists and hikers.
